Phuket Patong Beach Bliss: Uncover Glur's Hidden Paradise!
Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because we're diving headfirst into the (hopefully) blissful world of Phuket Patong Beach Bliss: Uncover Glur's Hidden Paradise! I say "hopefully" because, let's be real, hotels can be a crapshoot. But I'm here to give you the real scoop, the good, the bad, and the slightly-off-color observations, all in the name of a good review. And hey, maybe I’ll even convince you to book a stay.
First Impressions & Accessibility – Ugh, Getting There!
Getting to Phuket can be a bit of a headache, period. My flight was delayed (naturally), and the airport transfer? Well, let's just say the driver clearly hadn't mastered the art of avoiding potholes. Annoying! But hey, at least they offer airport transfer, right? (See you, getting around section)
Accessibility Note: Okay, so for the accessibility-minded travelers, this is important. The website says they have facilities for disabled guests, but I didn't fully check it out. I needed a break, so I didn't go on a full investigation. But I think you can use the “facilities for disabled guests” for wheelchair accessibility, access to restaurants and lounges and etc.
Rooms – Oasis or Just Another Room?
I’m not gonna lie; I was ready to be disappointed. But the room… surprisingly decent! Clean? Mostly! (I'm a clean freak.) It had everything you'd expect: air conditioning (thank GOD), a mini-bar (essential), and a decent view. Speaking of which, windows that open? YES! Blackout curtains? Double yes! You NEED them to escape the Phuket sun.
- What I loved: Free Wi-Fi (thank you, internet!), a comfy bed, and a powerful shower. I mean, a good shower makes all the difference, especially after a day on the beach.
- Bits that were a little less…blissful: My room was a little bit… basic. I am a lover of good interior to feel relaxed, but I can't blame the hotel.
Internet, Internet, Internet (Because We NEED It!)
Okay, let's talk internet. In this day and age, we are all dependent. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! This is a major win. I was able to stream movies, make calls, and generally avoid people (my favorite activity, tbh). And they even have Internet access – LAN in the room if you prefer a wired connection. Also, Wi-Fi in public areas worked perfectly.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking – Food Glorious Food (Mostly!)
Okay, this is where things got interesting. Here's the lowdown:
- Restaurants, and Restaurants!: There are restaurants. The restaurant is where you can have Asian cuisine, food from all over the world and other specific food options.
- Breakfast Buffet: Now, I'm a sucker for a good buffet. I love breakfast, I need breakfast. The spread here was… decent. Asian breakfast, Western breakfast… you know the drill. It had your standard bacon, eggs, pastries, and fruit. I got a bit lazy so I didn't have the breakfast in rooms.
- Other Good Stuff: A Poolside bar, a coffee shop, and a snack bar. I like snacks and drinks and the poolside bar.
- A la carte in restaurant: The food was good, but a little bit slow on the service.
- Things to note: Vegetarian options were available.
Things to Do & Ways to Relax – Pamper Yourself (or Don't!)
Alright, let's talk about fun!
- The Spa, the Spa, the Spa! This is a BIG win. I wasn't planning on using this. I was thinking about going to the beach or just staying in the room. But, I endeed up going and I had to say… This is the best spa I have ever been! I went to their spa/sauna and had massage. I got a body scrub, a body wrap and went to the steamroom. IT WAS HEAVEN.
- The Pool: The pool was pretty. Pool with view, yes! Swimming pool [outdoor] = YES. Swimming pool = YES.
- For the Fitness Fanatics: They have a Fitness Center.
- Other ways to relax: A Foot bath, Sauna.
Cleanliness and Safety – Did They Do Their Homework?
This is SUPER important. Thankfully, the hotel seems to take this seriously.
- Good Stuff: Hand sanitizer everywhere, staff trained in safety protocol (I saw them!), and they were doing daily disinfection in common areas. Rooms sanitized between stays, which is essential right now (thank you, Covid).
- Things to Consider: I didn't see any anti-viral cleaning products advertised specifically, but I’m assuming they were using something good.
Services and Conveniences – The Little Things That Matter
- Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping… awesome!
- Practical Stuff: Laundry service, dry cleaning, concierge services, cash withdrawal facilities. You know, the usual.
- Business Corner: They have a business center if you need to make copies or anything.
- Miscellaneous: Luggage storage and elevator were both handy.
For the Kids – Family Vacation?
- Kid-Friendly: Family/child friendly… yes!
- Specifics: They also offer babysitting service and kids facilities.
Getting Around – Transportation Shenanigans
- The Good: Airport transfer is a lifesaver. Free car park too.
- The Bad: I didn’t try it this time, but I bet you can get a Taxi service.
The Big Picture: Is Phuket Patong Beach Bliss… Blissful?
Look, no hotel is perfect. But Phuket Patong Beach Bliss is a solid choice. It's clean, comfortable, and the spa is OUTSTANDING. I would recommend it.
My Honest-to-Goodness Opinion:
This place isn’t perfect. But it's got a lot going for it. I've booked a hotel for a break, so I wouldn't be disappointed.
My Personal Score: 4 out of 5 Stars (losing one star for the bit basic room and the slightly slow service. But hey, I’m nitpicking.)

Cagayan de Oro Oasis: Your Dream 2-Bedroom Home Awaits!
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because you're about to get the REAL Phuket experience, Glur-style. Forget perfectly curated Instagram feeds – this is going to be a hot, sweaty, mosquito-bitten, and gloriously chaotic trip. Warning: May contain questionable decisions and a profound love for pad thai.
Glur Phuket Patong Beach: The Unvarnished Truth (and a Whole Lotta Fun)
Day 1: Arrival – Hell Yeah We're Here! (And Immediately Regret Packing So Much)
- Morning (ish): Land at Phuket International Airport. Holy humidity, Batman! It hits you like a warm, wet blanket. Finding the pre-booked minivan? Easier said than done. Turns out, my booking confirmation was a tiny, insignificant piece of paper compared to the sheer volume of aggressive taxi touts. Eventually, we find it, but not before a minor shouting match with a guy who REALLY wanted to shuttle us. (Note: He had a GREAT tan.)
- Afternoon: Check into Glur Phuket. The pictures looked so breezy and minimalist. In reality? It's charmingly…dated. The pool is WAY smaller than it looks online, and the "ocean view" from my room requires a significant neck contortion. No matter! We ditch the bags (mostly filled with clothes I'll never wear) and hit the beach. Patong Beach. It's…intense. The energy is raw and electric, vendors hawking everything from sunglasses to fresh mango, jet skis buzzing like angry bees.
- Evening: Dinner at a random street food stall. Pad thai. Glorious, greasy, ridiculously cheap pad thai! I practically inhaled it. The little lady cooking it was probably 80 years old and faster than a Ferrari. Ate so much I can't even… followed by a Chang beer or five (or six). Patong's nightlife is overwhelming initially. We're talking neon lights, music blasting from every corner, and a whole lot of people trying to sell you ping pong balls. We wandered around for a while, got completely lost, saw things we probably shouldn't have, and laughed a lot. Found some amazing ice cream though.
Day 2: Beach Day Blues (and a Scooter Disaster)
- Morning: Woke up with a slight headache (thanks, Chang!), a lingering feeling of fried noodles, and the burning sun on my unacclimated skin. Sunscreen: a MUST. Spent the morning on Patong Beach, braving the crowds, and attempting to actually relax. Which means dodging aggressive massage ladies, sun-burnt tourists, and the constant drone of jet skis. Briefly considered buying a whole coconut because I was jealous of everyone else.
- Afternoon: The Great Scooter Debacle. Rented a scooter (stupid idea, I'm terrible at driving anything.) Within 10 minutes, I'd almost taken out a family of four and managed to scratch the scooter's paint. (Sighing. We paid damage fee…a lot) The worst part is that I loved driving, and was sad I had to give it up after such a short time. Swore off scooters in my life.
- Evening: Back to the beach, this time for sunset. It was absolutely gorgeous. The colours were unreal. We had dinner at a restaurant slightly away from the main chaos – fresh seafood, grilled to perfection. Fell asleep almost immediately at the hotel.
Day 3: Elephants, Paradise, and Regret
- Morning: Attempted to do something actually worthwhile, like seeing elephants. However, the ethical debate about elephant tourism is REAL. I'd done my research, so choosing an experience that prioritizes animal welfare was a must. Found a sanctuary; it was a magical moment. Got to feed them, hang out with them, and learn about their personalities. (Teary-eyed over how sweet they are.) It was a truly unforgettable experience – one of the highlights of the trip.
- Afternoon: Island hopping to Phi Phi Island. Absolutely breathtaking. Maya Bay, though super crowded, was stunning. Took a boat ride, swam in crystal-clear water. Felt like I was in a postcard. (Except for all the other tourists.)
- Evening: Back to Patong. Needed a serious detox from all the beaching and sightseeing, so went for a massage. Seriously, the best hour of my life. Then, went back to the street vendors for more pad thai. I think I'm addicted.
Day 4: So Much Food, So Few Regrets
- Morning: Decided to embrace the chaos and take a cooking class. Learned how to make green curry from scratch. It was way more complicated than I expected, and I made a huge mess in the kitchen. But the end result? Delicious!
- Afternoon: Spent the afternoon exploring the local markets. So colourful, so fragrant, so many things I wanted to buy! Got lost in a maze of stalls piled high with souvenirs, spices, and knock-off designer goods. Found a ridiculously cheap pair of sunglasses. (Don't judge me.)
- Evening: One last night in Patong. Ventured into a bar. (Actually, we stumbled in). Danced with some strangers. Regretting not buying a cheap pair of trousers.
Day 5: Farewell, Phuket! (And Next Time, I'll Pack Less)
- Morning: One last dip in the pool (the tiny one!). Packed. Realized I'd bought far too many souvenirs.
- Afternoon: Taxi ride to the airport. Reflecting on my time in Phuket. It wasn't perfect. It was messy, overwhelming at times, and I definitely ate too much pad thai. But it was also amazing. I saw beautiful things, met interesting people, and had a blast.
- Evening: Flight home. Already dreaming of my next trip, and plotting how to get back to that little pad thai stall. Until next time, Phuket! You crazy, beautiful place.
