Luxury Redefined: Aloft Alpharetta - Your Alpharetta Escape!
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because we're diving headfirst into the Aloft Alpharetta - Luxury Redefined. This ain't your grandma's hotel review, honey. Forget the bland travel blogs, we're going REAL. Because, let's be honest, who doesn't want a little Alpharetta escape?
First Impressions & Accessibility: The Good, The Bad, and the "Oh, Thank God"
Okay, first things first: getting into this place. Accessibility is a HUGE deal (and a must-have in this day and age!). I'm always wary because let's face it, not EVERY place gets it right. But… the Aloft Alpharetta seems to actually care. Elevator? Check. Wheelchair accessibility throughout? Double-check. The ramps weren't death traps and the doors weren't bolted shut like some architectural conspiracy. The front desk staff? Friendly and actually helpful. Not just "smile and wave" helpful, but "how can I REALLY make your stay better?" helpful. Seriously, a HUGE win right off the bat. This also impacts accessibility for Facilities for disabled guests.
The hotel also has a Convenience store which is super convenient.
Then there’s the Internet, Because, Let’s Face It, We’re All Addicted
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! YES! Praise the internet gods! Also, I could get a reliable connection in the Wi-Fi in public areas. And I mean, come on, in this modern world, solid internet is a non-negotiable. I went to log into some business documents and it turns out they even had a Internet [LAN]! If you need to get online, you HAVE it. Internet services are great.
The Rooms: Cleanliness, Creature Comforts and the Dreaded Blackout Curtains
Okay, let's get to the real nitty-gritty: the rooms. Non-smoking rooms? Praise the heavens. I hate walking into a room that smells like a stale ashtray. The Room sanitization opt-out available is a nice touch. I feel if you would like you and are okay leaving it up to yourself, then the hotel will honor and support. And the Rooms sanitized between stays? Necessary in our current reality. Thank goodness for the Anti-viral cleaning products too.
My room, a Non-smoking one (thank you), was generally spotless. The little things? The Hair dryer, the bathrobes, the complimentary tea and Free bottled water… I appreciated the thought. The Mini bar had some tempting options, but, I stayed away. The blackout curtains, however, almost became a personal vendetta of mine. They seemed to work too well! I almost overslept with the Alarm clock, which made me want to scream! Okay, fine, it's a minor gripe.
The rooms offered: Air conditioning, Alarm clock, Bathtub, Bathroom phone, Bathtub, Blackout curtains, Closet, Coffee/tea maker, Complimentary tea, Daily housekeeping, Desk, Extra long bed, Free bottled water, Hair dryer, High floor, In-room safe box, Interconnecting room(s) available, Internet access – LAN, Internet access – wireless, Ironing facilities, Laptop workspace, Linens, Mini bar, Mirror, Non-smoking, On-demand movies, Private bathroom, Reading light, Refrigerator, Safety/security feature, Satellite/cable channels, Scale, Seating area, Separate shower/bathtub, Shower, Slippers, Smoke detector, Socket near the bed, Sofa, Soundproofing, Telephone, Toiletries, Towels, Umbrella, Visual alarm, Wake-up service, Wi-Fi [free], and Window that opens.
The Amenities: Relax, Rejuvenate, or Just Pretend You're Important
Alright, let's talk about the fun stuff: ways to relax. They have a Swimming pool [outdoor].
So, the Fitness center was decent, but let's be honest, after a long day of meetings (or just, you know, existing), I was more in the mood for… the Spa/sauna. Now, I'm not normally a spa person. I'm more of a "sweat it out in the sauna" kinda gal. But I did try the Body scrub and Massage. It was heaven. Pure, unadulterated, muscle-melting heaven. The staff were professional and skilled without being pretentious. The Steamroom, well, it was steamy. And good!
Dining: Food, Glorious Food (or at least, edible food)
Okay, the food. This is where things get a little messy. The Restaurants at the Aloft Alpharetta were pretty decent. They have a Poolside bar, and a Snack bar. A la carte in restaurant and Buffet in restaurant. They had Happy hour (always a win). Breakfast [buffet] was available, and, while it wasn't Michelin-star quality, it was perfectly acceptable. The Coffee/tea in restaurant was actually good. This all falls under the umbrella of Dining, drinking, and snacking.
The Asian cuisine in restaurant was fantastic and Western cuisine in restaurant was also worth it.
**They had *Coffee shop*, *Desserts in restaurant*, and *Salad in restaurant**.
The food could be delivered via Food delivery.
Now, the Breakfast takeaway service and the Alternative meal arrangement options is great too. They also provide Essential condiments.
Services & Conveniences: The Little Things That Make a Difference
This is where hotels either shine or crumble. Aloft Alpharetta mostly shines. Concierge service? Polite and helpful. Laundry service, Dry cleaning, Ironing service? Check, check, check. Daily housekeeping? Yes, thank you. Cash withdrawal? Convenient. The Elevator worked, phew. And, if you need something more, they have Facilities for disabled guests and Luggage storage.
Safety, Security & The Real World
Cleanliness and safety go hand in hand these days, and Aloft gets it. I noticed several features that reassured me: Safe dining setup, a commitment to Physical distancing of at least 1 meter, staff Staff trained in safety protocol, and Sanitized kitchen and tableware items. Cashless payment service is offered, and Hand sanitizer is readily available. The inclusion of Doctor/nurse on call and a First aid kit is also reassuring. Safety, for me, extends to peace of mind, and I really appreciate the small touches. The Fire extinguisher, Smoke alarms, and Security [24-hour]. The CCTV in common areas and CCTV outside property feel like your basic security, giving everyone a sense of safety.
For the Kids & Family Fun
Did you know the Aloft Alpharetta has a Family/child friendly rating?
Getting Around: Location, Location, Location (and Transportation)
This is where I have to take a deep breath. The location of the Aloft Alpharetta is pretty good, but you will need to find your own transport. They do offer Airport transfer. They have a Car park [free of charge], but if you wish to Valet parking is also an option. They also offer a Taxi service.
My Honest Verdict and Why You Should Book (Maybe)
Look, the Aloft Alpharetta isn't perfect. Nothing is. But it is pretty darn good. I'd return? Absolutely. Especially for a work trip. The staff, the cleanliness, and the amenities, everything just works. It would be a great Proposal spot, based on the vibe.

Okay, buckle up, buttercups! Here's an itinerary for a stay at the Aloft Alpharetta, Georgia, that's less "polished travel brochure" and more "slightly frantic human winging it." Prepare for a bumpy ride (mentally, at least!):
Aloft Alpharetta: My Glorious, Messy, and Totally Unpredictable Adventure
Day 1: Arrival and Existential Dread (Followed by Pizza)
- 2:00 PM - Arrival: Ugh. Alpharetta. Never heard of it before the business trip. Honestly, my expectations were set firmly in the "bland corporate landscape" category. But hey, the Aloft looks… well, it looks modern. Shiny even. Checking in - ugh. I hate the small talk. "Enjoy your stay!" – yeah, I'll try, I'm just praying the air conditioning works. And the elevator doesn't trap me. I'm already sweating (anxiety, not the Georgia humidity…yet).
- 2:30 PM - Settling In: Okay, room is actually pretty decent. Big windows! Thank god for the blackout curtains, because I'm pretty sure I'm going to need them. First order of business: assess the wifi. Crucial. Need to check my emails (ugh, the mountain of them!) and see if the office is, you know, still standing after I've been gone for 2 days.
- 3:00 PM - Gym Attempt (and Failure): Alright, alright, I should hit the gym. I can feel the travel bloat settling in. But the gym is right beside the pool and all the happy looking healthy people were putting me off. The treadmill beckoned, but so did my comfy bed. Bed won. I swear, next time.
- 5:00 PM - Deep Dive into the Internet: Okay, let's be honest. This is when the real relaxing began. Ordered a pizza (it was called something fancy like "The Alpharetta Supreme," but it was basically pepperoni and mushrooms, which is the perfect pizza) and parked myself in front of the TV. The internet, the pizza, the comfortable bed. I'd almost have thought, you know, I'm happy.
- 7:00 PM - Eventful Exploration (and the Most Painful Steak of My Life): Corporate event. Ugh. Networking. Yeesh. Fake smiles, vapid small talk, and the inevitable buffet of rubbery chicken. I made one friend, a woman who also hated these events and spent most of the night talking about her cat. This was the highlight.
- 9:00 PM - The Steak House of DOOM: Decided to grab dinner at a super-fancy steak place in Alpharetta. The steak came out and it was as tough as my boss's personality. I tried, I really did. I chewed, and chewed, and chewed… I swear, it's still working its way through my system.
- 10:00 PM - Bedtime: Aaaaaand… bed. Hopefully sleep rescues me from my existential dread.
- 10:30 PM - In the Middle of the Night, the Water Heater Explodes: Just kidding. Not really. Okay, so I don't think it exploded but the shower was suddenly all cold water. I had to call the hotel.
Day 2: Culture! (Maybe)
- 7:00 AM - Coffee Quest: I need caffeine. Desperately. Thank God for that little coffee maker in the room, I would have fallen over by now.
- 8:00 AM - The Dreaded Business Meeting: Ugh.
- 12:00 PM - The Alpharetta Food Hall: Okay, this was cool. My boss suggested getting lunch there and I have to admit, Alpharetta redeemed itself just a little bit with this place. The food selections were out of this world. I tried the Italian place and ordered a burger. It was fantastic. I felt like I could have eaten three.
- 2:00 PM - Free Time! (Sort Of): The afternoon was open! I considered a hike, but decided my emotional energy was not up for it.
- 3:00 PM - Spa Visit: Okay, a spa. Because why not? I found a cute little spa and got a massage. Wow. It was amazing. I thought I had a headache, but maybe I was just really, really stressed. This was the best part of the trip so far, hands down.
- 6:00 PM - Dinner Mishap: Since dinner at the conference was probably going to be awful, I decided to venture out. The steakhouse was out of the question, so I decided to try a local eatery. The place looked and smelled fantastic, and it was packed, always a good sign. I was starving, so I quickly ordered. And then the wait time hit, and I watched everyone get their meals before me. Finally, after over an hour, my (cold) food came. I made a decision to eat the food but not pay for it.
- 8:00 PM - The Hotel Bar (and My Existential Crisis Continues): The hotel bar. Always a good idea, right? A little bit of liquid courage to wash down the sheer exhaustion of the day. Sat there nursing a cocktail, staring out the window, wondering what the hell I was doing with my life.
- 10:00 PM - Bedtime… Again.:
Day 3: Departure and Brief Resurgence of Hope
- 7:00 AM - The Coffee Ritual: I'm getting good at this. Coffee, then stare into the abyss.
- 8:00 AM - Meetings, Meetings, Meetings: Goodbye, free time. Hello, spreadsheets and awkward presentations!
- 12:00 PM - The End: Finally, free! I packed up everything, checked out, and headed to the airport. I don't know, Alpharetta, you weren't the worst. Maybe…just maybe…I could see myself coming back. If the hotel is good, of course.
- 12:30 PM - Airport and the Aftermath: Goodbye, Alpharetta. I wonder if I'll ever be back. Hopefully not too soon.
This is just a suggestion. Customize it! Make it yours. And for the love of all that is holy, don’t eat the tough steak.
